What I'm doing for my birthday is nothing new; people do it every day. In fact, there is a whole website dedicated to this same project: http://www.thebdayproject.com/
I feel that in these days and times of trauma and bad news, we could all use some goodness. I'm going to start in my small circle and hopefully the ripple of goodness will bless more than I know.
So, I begin on October 1. I hope by the end of the month that I have done well above my goal of 38 things. And, I hope that I've encouraged you to pass it on. If you do your own RAOK, let me know.
Some of the ideas I have are:
1) Work at the foodbank with the whole family. (including collecting cans)
2) Donate clothes and baby items to a local women's shelter
3) Return carts to store
4) Send old friends special cards
5) Visit nursing home and read to elderly or bring them to dinner
